Testimonials - What our couples say about us
“Although we had lived in Rome for 3 years and knew exactly what we wanted it still proved difficult to really organise what we wanted. Until of course we started working with Paola. She knows exactly what she’s doing and she is very professional in her approach. Our venue a 16th Century Villa was spectacular, our guests could not believe their eyes. The villa is surrounded by amazing grounds where you can go for a walk and the views of Rome are stunning. At night the twinkling lights of the eternal city at your feet. Spectacular and romantic. Champagne reception on the terrace at sunset and a beautifully decorated dining room for the main meal were our wedding set. Our meal was gorgeous. Our guests, our families and ourselves were in amazement at how fantastic it all was.”
“We had been in Italy 3 days at that stage and the 4 venues we had seen were all possible candidates to host our wedding. Paola had a little surprise for us though as she had a secret to reveal later on that morning; we live beside the Blackwater river just outside Waterford and we love it there. She met with us and together we went to see the most amazing little gem. This little village only 25 minutes drive from Verona was completely built on the banks of the river Mincio. It was bustling with local people, restaurants, bars, shops and a divine little church. We had lunch on the terrace of Alberto’s restaurant overlooking the old mill and listening to the sound of Ennio Morricone. A year later we were back this time with 35 of our closest family and friends to celebrate our wedding there. It was brilliant, it was unique, we were blessed with the weather and the atmosphere, the food, and the craic.”
“Sean’s colleague got married in Italy 5 years ago. Her experience and advice were our starting point in contacting Paola when we decided we would also like to get married abroad. We chose Ravello as we fell in love with its Italian charm. The beautiful piazza with its cafes and the sober church of Santa Maria were our church ceremony was held. Our wedding venue welcomed us and our guests to a wholesome buffet, a candle lit reception dinner, offered us some stunning views over the Amalfi Coastline while the band entertained us to the sound of Bossanova and Jazz rhythms.”- “Flowers are my thing. My mum and I share this love for lilies and it was just a matter of finding out if a bridal bouquet of pink and stargazer lilies could be an option for me. For the centrepiece for the tables we chose water lilies...strictly pink with little white candles to complement the setting. Irishweddingsinitaly’s personnel moved all our flowers from the church to the reception. It was nice to see some of our flowers in vases in the hotel’s lobby the morning after the wedding. There were still gorgeous.” - “You've spent months planning your wedding day, and when the time finally arrives, chances are you'll be completely caught up in the rush and excitement of the day's events. This is exactly what happened to us.”
“From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special, as if our wedding was the most important event of the week, management and staff worked together as a friendly and professional team dedicated to making our wedding day an unforgettable occasion. You succeeded beyond our greatest expectations. You brought the natural beauty and culture of Puglia to life for us. Your gift of white doves for release at the end of our church ceremony will always be a very personal and precious memory.”
“We both love Italy very much. Till we travelled to Abruzzo we thought we had seen the best. It was January when we travelled to this region, the mountains were white with Snow and the sun was splitting the sky. At first we don’t know if we chose this small village for its warm welcome or because though just an hour drive from Rome we felt it was a world apart. It was love at first sight as we got caught in the magic of its cobbled narrow streets, the smell of wood being burnt and meat being char grilled. The rest is history. We got married there a little over 6 months later and received the same warm welcome by the locals. We had a banquet of lamb and organic vegetables telling our guests the story about these beautiful mountains been covered in Snow.”
“My big brother Rob renewed his vows in Venice last year, it was a small affair with only his children and grandchildren but we saw the photos, the video and he couldn’t stop praising ‘the Italians’ nor ‘Shanahan and her team’ as he still calls Paola. We were most impressed with his story and we decided to also give Italy a go. Lesley and I both come from large families. We decided to get married in the Versilia with most of them attending and to go for a venue beside the beach as it provided entertainment for all the kids at the wedding. All the bases were covered by you and your staff leaving all of us to enjoy a great wedding. Nothing was left to chance except the weather...but it poured sunshine”
"Our wedding more than lived up to our expectations and we will always remember it. We were made to feel very welcome everywhere we went, the hotel staff were great. The organisation was impeccable; from the choice of the music at the church, the boat trip, the cocktail reception, the flowers, the gorgeous sunset, down to the party for the afters and the personal attention from the reps who attended. The people that we met were very open and we feel that we have learned a little about the culture and traditions of the Sardinians. The natural beauty is still vivid in our minds. The week of our wedding celebration flashed by far too quickly. We will return soon I suppose and I feel few of our guests will too."
“We met and married in New Zealand just the two of us, five years ago while we both were out there working. We had been away from Ireland and England for almost 8 years without seeing our families and had decided to finally move back home and start a family of our own. We announced our wedding while we were still out there inviting 65 guests to join us in Puglia, Italy for a special family and friends reunion 10 months later and to celebrate our Catholic wedding. Shane had travelled to Puglia with a friend when he was still a student and talked me into it. You Paola did the rest, from arranging ‘the wedding venue’ a stunning Mediterranean villa, flowers, music, photographer, dealing directly and personally with all our guest’s requirements, down to hiring ‘the perfect suit’ for Shane for the wedding ceremony. What made our wedding so special was the foresight, effort and positive attitude that you put into every little detail. Thank you.”
"We were privileged to enjoy a very special experience in this part of Italy. We had the best personal guidance. It exceeded our expectations. The local welcome, our wedding reception, accommodation and personal attention we and all our guests received was outstanding. A visit to the infamous town of Corleone and meeting the locals added to the sense of being somewhere quite different and exotic. It was a bit of shock to the system when we reached the airport and saw so many Irish and English people again. Truly memorable, many thanks"
“We went to a friend’s wedding in Rome a few years ago, we loved it. It was fun, interesting and most important, those that were there including us were really happy to be there. It wasn’t like We HAD TO GO TO IT, it was more like we looked forward to go to it!! So when it came our turn to announce WE WERE GETTING MARRIED we felt we knew the answer. We had never visited the Umbria region though...and when we did, it blew our minds away with its hilltop villages, its waterfalls and its stunning countryside. The food was so wholesome and gorgeous yet again there was familiarity with the way they cooked and served all the dishes. We had our wedding reception outdoors completely lit up by torches on the villa’s high walls, iron chandeliers and candles on the long imperial table. The atmosphere was magic.”
“Our top 5 criteria were accessibility to/ from the airport, an outdoor wedding reception in a villa, stunning views, self catering accommodation for all guests with families and entertainment for the children. We both come from big families and having children at our wedding looked after was very important to us. Our venue to start with was in a quite part of Casoli, surrounded by vineyards, with a pool, solarium and barbeque facility. Gianluca and Stefania were fantastic with the children, they had so much paraphernalia to keep the children busy that we saw them again when it was time for the sitting down meal.”
“My aunty Margaret got married in Rome some 40 odd years ago. Two years ago we followed her footsteps to Italy and tied the knot in Verona. Our wedding venue, right in front of the Arena, the evening lights and the sound of music made the backdrop for our celebration magical. That afternoon our family and friends attended our ceremony in the most beautiful church we have ever seen. Our guests were outside the church waiting for us to appear, ready to throw petals, rice and sugared almonds, like back in the old days in Ireland. Very much an Italian tradition I would add. It was a very special and emotional time for both of us ”
“We decided on Italy after reading an article in The Irish Times about "Irish Weddings in Italy". Our idea of the perfect wedding was without a doubt not the average couple’s dream. We loved the Amalfi Coast as we both share some special memories of having travelled there when we were in our early twenties though we did not want anything fussy or overstated. No cars, No luxuries, No pedestals. Our request to Paola was to find an alternative to the villa, castle, hotel setting and come up with a venue that was intimate, down to earth, beside water if all possible, an outdoor meal, easily accessible as all our guests were scattered all over Amalfi. We wanted live music and atmosphere, we wanted our guests to relax and feel free to walk bare foot or go for a swim if they wished. What we got was magic and unique, surpassing both our imaginations.”
“Our wedding was so relaxed and informal yet, all of us got this really strong sense that so much thought and work had gone into every little detail. Our venue had a fabulous array of food available all afternoon till early evening including trays of chocolate dipped strawberries, all sorts of Italian breads, miniature pizzas and pastries, Mediterranean chicken kebabs, fresh fruit skewers, mini quiches and lots more! We loved the music that was performed by Fabio’s quartet as all our guests relaxed and mingled while drinks were served throughout the aperitifs, buffet and sitting down dinner. The views over the lake and the gorgeous town of Bellagio simply added to a truly unique few days. Many, many thanks”
“Our venue was a beautifully restored castle in a magical place, Loreto, a wonderfully tranquil old town surrounded by spectacular scenery, set the scene for our big day. Paola, Antonio and in particular Christina where there to oversee that everything went to plan. Nothing was a problem for them, they went out of their way to ensure that our three day wedding event was very special.” - “The music at the church was so up lifting. The wonderful musicians and the sweetness of the singer’s voice made it that bit more enchanting. A perfect touch to an already perfect ceremony.”
“We fell in love with Siena watching a travel program on TV a few years ago. We then visited Italy 2 years ago and visited 7 venues in 3 different regions. Though it was hard to make our choice, in the end we were set on Tuscany. Our venue was exactly what I had pictured in my head. A classic Tuscan villa outside Siena. Stunning views, a nice warm breeze. We hired the villa for 4 days and were able to accommodate all our guests in the villa itself, which for us was a bonus. Being the end of June, the wedding reception, the bar and the dance were outdoors which made it extra special. Our memento for our guests was a bottle of Montepulciano ‘Special Edition’ to bring home.”
"Having never been to Italy before our preview, we were afraid that Venice would not be the right location to host our large wedding. Then we found irishweddingsinitaly which offered a mixture of wedding locations throughout Italy and accompanied us through the complete process of getting married in Italy. We saw such a variety of places and felt like we discovered real Italian culture. With only 16 weeks to go to our big day; our palazzo was simply spectacular, you had it all sussed and organised that you took the hassle out of the wedding leaving us to relax, enjoy the party and the shared experience with all our guests. As with anything else, it is so much easier to work with people that you actually like! It was a wonderful wedding, thank you!"
“A colleague in work raved about a wedding she attended almost four years earlier on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. In her words she said that it was a memorable experience, the food was yummy, beer and wine on tap; a great party that stretched over three days and that though it was early October she got a tan. It was excellent she concluded. With this information we visited Italy sure that that venue was the one. We were not disappointed. Our wedding event was by our guest’s account the best wedding they attended. Paola many thanks to you and those at irishweddingsinitaly that made it possible.”
“This Castle and church were perfect, the Castle faced the Church down a narrow cobbled street. The locals were out waving and wishing us luck as we walked back to the Castle. All of this on highest part of the old town looking out over unspoilt olive groves. The good weather ensured our aperitif and prosecco reception before the main buffet could be planned outside. This took place at the pool and everything was very relaxed for guests to enjoy the sun, the food, the drink and get some outdoor photos before the sitting down reception. We spent 5 days in the hotel in all and our family and friends have great memories of the wedding event.”
"The venue was absolutely spectacular and we couldn't have wished for a more perfect location. Our preview had been cut short due to a family illness however Paola took our brief fully into consideration and came up with the wedding venue of our dreams. A historical Tuscan villa in the Chianti wine growing area surrounded by cypress trees and rolling Tuscan countryside. The pre-dinner drinks reception was a memory I shall never forget. Our guests relaxed, chatting, listening to some light jazz whilst being served drinks and canapés in the most magnificent of surroundings. Later dinner was served on the terrace under a setting Tuscan sun. Following umpteen courses the guests were treated to a marathon musical work out on the terrace. It was 9am next morning before us and many of our guests made it to bed. All in all it was truly fantastic."
“We had never been to Italy when we decided that we wanted to get married abroad. We were desperate to get away from the Irish hotel scene and what that implied. Our parents were very supportive and our friends were looking for an excuse for a holiday away. We chose The Umbria region of Italy and Perugia as our location mainly because of the warmth of the people we met while on preview. The reality is that when we visited Italy we loved everywhere! All the venues we saw had plenty going for them. All our guests travelled into 2 groups from Rome airports by private coaches. We loved being in the centre of Perugia, including the guests; plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars. We walked everywhere including to the church and to the wedding reception on the wedding day!”
"When we decided to marry in Rome we were excited by the prospects but also daunted by what needed to be organized and how we would begin the process. It was by chance that we read an article in the Irish Times extolling the virtues of Paola Shanahan. Patricia and I were thankful that you were only a phone call away at all times with reassuring words of support and confidence that our plans were progressing well. Once again we thank you all at Irish Weddings in Italy for making our special day run so smoothly." - “On our wedding day the photographer and his team ensured that no photo opportunity was missed, as they were ever present in the background without ever giving us the feeling of being in the way. We were delighted with the quality both of the finished photographs and of the presentation of our album”
“Robert and I were married for 24 years when we decided it would be a very special occasion for us, our 3 children and 2 grandchildren if we renew our vows. We chose Venice. It was a beautiful and emotional experience for all of us, you would think that at my age I would be much more relaxed, instead dressed in white I felt like the young bride I was back then all over again. We are glad our children and grandchildren were there with us to share and treasure this unique moment.”
“18 people including bride and groom and my sister’s toddler would have been a difficult number to really cater for as my wedding was a small one. What we were really after was a villa that could accommodate all of us, beside amenities and with a restaurant with plenty of Italian character for the wedding reception. Our wedding venue located in the small town of Tuoro was exactly everything we were looking for. Excellent cuisine, big enough for max 20 people, splendid panoramas and guests could stroll into the centre of the village for coffee or a drink at their leisure. Paola this would not be a quote but a book if we thought you’d give it the space!! We had a fabulous time!!”
“A stunning Tuscan Castle, with its own little church, views of vineyards all around, our friends and families together for the first time. The local wine, amazing food, music and dancing till early morning made it truly unforgettable.” - “We just wanted a handful of family group and Bride & Groom shots; what we got surpassed our expectations: there were images of our day, family, friends and the stunning scenery of the Tuscan countryside.”
“We would like to thank Roberto and his family for making our wedding in Abruzzo simply unique. His hotel on the white sandy beach on the Adriatic Riviera was our home for the three days. The staff at the hotel were so nice and friendly to all our guests, that there were tears when some of them left to go back to Galway. We were completely flabbergasted when we saw the reception room on our wedding day... the candles, the petals and little white pebbles. On every table there was a sea horse for the gentlemen and a sea star for the ladies attending to indicate where guests were to seat with their name on it. The tableau with the guest’s seating had a beautiful serigraph of lobsters and prawns. Roberto’s restaurant is part of the Slow Food association and from start to finish the only word to describe our wedding reception is EXCELLENT.” - “The Photographer gave us a unique and personal set of images. We are very happy with our photo album. It keeps our memory of the wedding alive every time we show it to friends and family. Hard to think it is over one year ago already.”
“We chose Pisa because of its accessibility and its night life. We liked the fact that the shops, bars and cafes are plentiful and you are about 50 minutes away from Florence and 30 minutes away from Lucca. We wanted to get married in Tuscany but as most of our guests are a bunch of party animals we also needed to keep the entertainment going for our guests. Our wedding venue was a little gem, right in the historic centre of Pisa. The staff could not do enough for us, the food was gorgeous and uncomplicated and the band was bang on.” - “Flowers are important to me they have always been, my favourite flower is the snow white calla, my bouquet needed to be small and elegant...simply white. No other colour. For my bridesmaids I chose a deep burgundy colour, same style, as the theme of the wedding was in fact white and burgundy red for the church and the reception. Less is more and we were very happy with the result.” - “We were in two minds about having a video of our wedding and because of a tight budget we nearly scrapped it. We are glad we went for it in the end. There would have been so much of the day we would not have seen without it.”
“We loved Rapallo, a town flowing with tradition and culture. We enjoyed every moment of our wedding there thanks to your hard work and dedication. The family are still talking about it and some have framed photos from it so it must have been good. We are planning to go back there in September on our 1st anniversary for a week.” - “At our wedding we brought together 3 generations of families and most of our closest friends, the result has been a DVD with lots of images, a video of the day and long lasting memories for years to come. Many thanks.”
“We fell in love with Amalfi after our preview in Italy. Originally we thought we would get married in Rome but after sitting on the terrace of the Tower restaurant in Amalfi town we realised that we had found ‘the venue’. Everything from the fish dishes we tasted, down to the friendliness of those that looked after us, the sea, the smell of lemons, the gorgeous architecture of this little town, made our decision so much easier. The best had yet to come though. We spent the best part of four days with some of our best friends, with all our family members in attendance. It was a special and unique experience for all of us. The food, the church, the flowers, the music, the sea, the sun, the outing the day after the wedding; It was simply magical.” - “We arrived in Amalfi 6 days before the wedding in time amongst all other things to get all my beauty requirements looked after. Paola got an excellent deal for me at the Spa of the local five star Hotel. On my wedding day Elena our beautician looked me after in my hotel room. She spoke perfect English with an Australian slang, it was quite funny.”
“We have gone through the memories of our wedding day many times in disbelief: the church ceremony, Don Emanuel our celebrant priest and his kind words, the castle just outside Perugia where our wedding reception was held, the banquet in the Turandot dining room, the flowers, the music. We would like to thank Stefano the maitre, all the waiters, the kitchen staff, the concierge, the band and Irish Weddings in Italy for the excellent job done in making our day unforgettable for all of us.” - “The Ave Maria sang by Letizia blew us away, at that point emotions took over, hard to explain really... it was unique, it was so special.”
“Lake Albano in Castel Gandolfo was the perfect setting for our Wedding. The scenery was breathtaking and as Castel Gandolfo is the location of Pope’s Summer Residence, the religious element was extra special. We choose our venue for its superb location overlooking Lake Albano and panoramic views taking in Rocca di Papa, Castel Gandolfo Square and the surrounding areas. irishweddingsinitaly liaised directly with all our guests, everyone was booked into the same hotel, I.W.IT. had details of everyone’s flights and transfers were arranged direct from the airport to our hotel. The food served at our wedding reception was out-of-this world! All 65 of our guests are still raving about the meal! The staff were fantastic, couldn’t have done enough for us throughout our stay and especially at our big day itself. We had our champagne reception on the terrace overlooking the lake, then moved into the dining room for our five-course meal and later to the roof terrace complete with outdoor pool for dancing. Many thanks for introducing us to this wonderful place!”
“We chose the Amalfi Coast after seeing it for the first time on our preview trip to Italy and that was all we needed to know. We decided on Ravello as it had everything that we had ever dreamed of for our ‘perfect’ wedding. From the unimposing but beautiful church and Piazza to the venue itself with its breathtaking views over the Amalfi coastline. We got a wedding that surpassed even our wildest dreams and we will be back soon.” - “The DJ worked from our play list, it was brilliant, we had a ball. It was a great night for all our guests.”
“Aoife and I would like to express our sincere thanks for being there throughout the planning of our wedding in Rome. It was always going to be an ambitious goal to do what we wanted but with your help the day surpassed our wildest expectations. All 91 of our guests bar none said it was the best wedding they had ever gone to. When we arrived at our Villa, there was a beautiful cocktail reception waiting for us followed by a brilliant evening meal and a fantastic D.J who played until 6am. The hotel staff were unbelievable helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay so warm. Our guests were treated with the same courtesy. Without a doubt we will be returning again. Just to say again, thank you for your diligence, attention to detail, patience, crises management and friendship.”
“The champagne reception before the meal was spectacular. It gave Amy and I a chance to unwind with all the guests after the ceremony while enjoying the unforgettable views of Santo Stefano’s mountainous region. All our guests enjoyed the atmosphere that the String Quartet created while playing at the reception. The wedding would not have been the success it was if it wasn’t for the local people. Let alone was the location a hidden gem set in the most picturesque little village, the locals embraced our friends and family like we were their own. Amy and I could not believe it. The wedding is still being talked about by everyone who attended. What more can we say? Paola, Christine and the team left nothing to chance.” - “The String Quartet and DJ kept us and all of our guests on our feet and dancing until well into the small hours of the next day. Friends have asked only half in jest if they would be available to travel to other occasions back in Ireland to get us all dancing again.”
“We all gathered at 4pm in the Palazzo’s gardens , with the sun shining, we were greeted by raspberry cocktails complete with fresh raspberries and cocktail sticks with stickers saying ‘I do’! The three tiered cake was made by the pastry chef in front of our eyes complete with raspberries and icing sugar. Christine was an awesome wedding representative, seeing to every detail from flowers to the cake. Often the highest compliment you can give someone is to say that you didn't even notice them there - that's discretion. Truly she made the event and its success a personal mission. She made us feel more like family than clients. For all the wonderful memories we want to thank all of you. We had a fantastic four days together.” - “With my 3 bridesmaids we decided that we would spend an afternoon together just before the rest of the wedding guests reached the villa for the night’s get together. Paola organised a hairdresser & beauty salon to be available to us for 4 hours so that the girls and I could get beauty treatments and our hair done. We were served sweet pastries, chocolates and a glass of chilled prosecco. On the morning of the wedding again Paola booked 3 hours for make-up and hair. We had our private chauffeur to escort us to/from the salon. Like Cinderella I was back at the villa at 12.00 noon to put on my bridal dress.”
“When we spoke to Paola at Irish Weddings in Italy we had a clear image in our head that could be translated into the following request: ‘we would love a small Italian town beside the sea, white sandy beach, a white church, bars and entertainment for our guests.’ We had seen Positano and were wondering if there was something like this somewhere else on the Italian coast with the added benefit of being somewhere really new. We wanted few days with all our guests ‘a great bunch’ and possibly we were thinking to celebrate our wedding reception outdoor, on the beach. We decided on Puglia while still on preview, it completely blew us away. Our wedding in one word: fantastic.” - “One of the best parts of our wedding was without any doubt the wedding cake.”
“We didn’t want a typical Hotel wedding with 250 guests in toe, we were moving to Australia the following year and felt as many of us do that there were many other important things when you start your life together that money could buy. However, of course, our wedding day was important to us and wanted it to be as unique and personal as possible. Lake Como was our choice. We got married mid week last August in a beautiful medieval church surrounded by close family and friends. We had a wonderful reception dinner on the terrace of our venue overlooking the lake. It was intimate and romantic completed only by a glorious sunset.”
“The flowers that we chose for the bouquets and the church complemented our wedding venue and the medieval village where the wedding was held. Our best piece was the centre for the dining tables; a mixture of white daises, little camomile flowers, forget me not, blue berries and wild strawberries. Needless to say by the end of the evening the fruits were all gone!” - “Our hairdresser arrived at our villa the night before the wedding for my hair trial. It was a real treat to look nice for my guests that evening and it put things at ease for my wedding day. Indeed I was much more relaxed the day of my wedding. Nothing was rushed, my bridesmaids and little Aoife my flower girl all looked gorgeous.”
“We wanted an intimate wedding. We were delighted when we were shown the perfect wedding location on the outskirts of Rome’s oldest existing city gate. A stunning castle with a most amazing winter garden and views. The wedding reception, the party, the accommodation, the castle’s grounds, the pool, the friendly staff are something guests have mentioned to us more than once since their stay there and Ian improved his handicap on the golf course. The lads had a great afternoon together. It was a fantastic three day event. Paola, looking forward to Sarah and Daragh’s wedding next year.” - “Our wedding venue was a castle just outside the centre of Rome and there were no hairdresser salons in the immediate vicinity. The guests and ourselves were spread all over the castle grounds in self-catering villas. We had an express hairdressing service to call at our door following an appointment plan. It was very personal, very efficient, Luca and his 2 assistants knew all of us by name and everything ran like clockwork. Once they did their trick we all looked beautiful!!!!”
“‘Bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers feed also the soul.’ This quote that I read somewhere sums it up for me, I would add that what was important to me on my wedding day was the quality and not the quantity. I was highly pleased. Paola thank you again.” - “Beautiful images and lots to choose from; it took us over 6 months to choose ours.”
“The Wedding Cake is so much more than just a tasty dessert. It needs to taste good and look good too. Our cake succeeded in doing both.” - “My make up was natural, my nail reconstruction perfect, and the face and neck massage was a Godsend.” - “The band was fantastic; very flexible in accommodating special requests, nothing was too much trouble for them.”
“I have straight hair and I don’t go to the hairdresser too often, when Paola mentioned the hairdresser for the wedding day I was in two minds about it. I discussed this with my 3 bridesmaids and my mum and came to the conclusion that because of the day that was in we should go for. I was impressed the result, it really made a difference in the way we all looked.”
“I got a photo of my hair trial back in Cork sometime before the wedding and I brought it with me for the hairdresser, this saved time and hassle on the wedding day. As the wedding was in the afternoon I had plenty of time to get ready. Valeria our hairdresser was so nice, warm and very patient. There were 4 of us to look after and in her capable hands we were ready in less than 3 hours including fussy me.” - “We discussed make up with Paola in detail three months before our wedding. I am a very organised person and with some time on my hands in Italy I knew that I wanted a Beauty Spa salon to look after myself and my three bridesmaids not only on the morning of the wedding. Manicure, pedicure, make-up trial and a face massage were booked at the salon the afternoon before the wedding for the girls and myself. 2 days before the wedding I had fake tan applied and an aromatherapy massage to go with it. I switched my mobile off and spent a full day there relaxing, drinking herbal tea and reading my favourite book. A special time to myself, I truly enjoyed it.”
“I did not give a lot of thought to flowers till I saw myself trying the wedding dress. I chose the bouquets with my bridesmaids from a flower Magazine; Vandela roses, classic shape with a touch of dark green. A corsage for my mum and Sean’s mum and buttonholes for the guys. Paola looked after the Church and our venue for us. The flowers all worked out very well; the flowers for the pews at the Church were absolutely gorgeous, I was totally surprised about them.” - “The music was number one priority for us. It was a great party, family and friends were on the dance floor till early morning.”
“We have watched our wedding video over 10 times and every time I get that feeling of being a princess marrying the gorgeous prince. It was the most romantic day of my life.” - “From my bouquet to my Bridesmaids’ bouquets, church arrangements and table centre pieces for the reception; it was exactly what I wanted. Uncomplicated, simple, beautiful. Many thanks again.”
“When we visited our wedding venue in November last year not only was it shut because the season was well over but it seemed dismantled. Everything was carefully wrapped in plastic; the lounge, bar, dining room and bedrooms were spotless. Paola had mentioned to us that this venue was part of our preview as it had a lot to offer, in spite of it being closed it fitted with the criteria we gave her at our first meeting. We had an open mind and back in Ireland we decided to go with our guts. We liked it, right beside the beach, the beautiful terrace, the spacious sea front rooms, with a promenade of shop fronts; bars and kiosks, the sea breeze and a child park close by. We were not disappointed, we loved everything during those few days and we agree with some of our guests. It’s a pity we were the last on both sides to marry... with so many of our friends and family coming from America and Australia it would have been nice to start a tradition of meeting in Italy!!” - “All brides want to look beautiful on their wedding day’ that is what my sister Kate kept saying to me the morning of my wedding. With 6 sisters as bride’s maids, my mum and 8 other lady guests we looked more like an army than a wedding party!! Rosa and her team of assistants looked us after. The hotel suite put at our disposal for the morning became a luxurious hair salon. Very posh!”
“All our arrangements were designed by us with Paola and Mirko, our florist. We mostly used flowers in season, which complimented the surroundings and our wedding venue. Mirko’s attention to detail and his innovative approach created the perfect theme for our romantic wedding. Great work.” - “One of the most stunning and romantic spots in Italy, a simple church ceremony, a beautiful villa overlooking the Mediterranean sea, a long summer evening, al fresco aperitifs and a rich buffet dinner shared with all our guests; these are the ingredients that made our dream come true. Many thanks indeed to you, Christine, Antonio, Danielle, Fabio and the rest of the team.”
“With 93 people attending the wedding when it came to discussing the hairdresser we counted 24 hairdos not including myself! Paola suggested to block book the local hairdressing salon for the morning of the wedding and hire a black Mercedes to look after the transfer’s to/from the salon. It all worked out great, with a list of appointments so that every lady was in and out within 40 minutes. My 5 aunties more than anyone else loved this personal service. Gioia and her staff had canapés and a flute of Champagne at the salon for all the ladies. It was a real treat. It was a special morning for all of us.” - “There really is a significant part of our wedding that you don't get to experience on the day. By having our special day filmed, we were able to relive the precious few hours of our entire wedding again with all our family.”
“Our hotel was amazing, when we first arrived, we were overwhelmed with how amazing it looked and the staff was so friendly. They took really good care of us. The food was beautiful and everyone enjoyed the meal. I could keep writing and writing because there is nothing that I wasn’t happy with. The church was beautiful and only a walk away from the hotel.” - “The one thing that everyone commented on was our ‘Wedding Cake’. It was made by the Villa, in the shape of a Sunflower, and it was the most beautiful cake we have ever tasted.”
“We have always been camera shy, especially Rita, so we made a list with family and friends group photos and made sure that most of the photos with the brides maids, groomsman, best man and our parents were done by our photographer before the church ceremony. It worked perfectly for us as in all the photos after the church took just a little over 1 hour.” - “Our wedding cake matched the style of our wedding reception, it was a once off piece of edible art!”
“The video arrived just in time for Christmas; it was a special occasion and an excuse to have a party with family and friends that couldn’t make it to the wedding.” - “Make up, manicure and pedicure on the morning of the wedding were the only time during the wedding day where I wasn’t on my feet wearing my expensive high heels. Thank God for my flip flops... I wouldn’t have been able to stay on the dance floor otherwise. Great service. Many thanks.”
“Our Wedding Cake was the centrepiece of our wedding reception. It had a heart of chocolate mousse while the petals were made of sponge, strawberries and fresh cream. A real tasty combination. Hard to beat.” - “We decided on the video after looking at one of the video samples; the emotions on the faces of our families and friends as we walked down the aisle... our vows... our toast and first dance... Our video is simply unique to us!”
